CAREER SUMMARY

Barry Reeve MSc CEng FIMMM Dr. Reeve has enjoyed a successful and progressive career in the metallurgical industry.

His experience has included senior positions with two of the worlds leading Companies associated with the metallurgical industry, ALCOA and DAVY International, embracing smelting, casting, rolling, metal processing, equipment supply, contracting and project management.

The basis of the above achievements was a successful career with ALCOA, the worlds leading Aluminium producer, including living and working in the USA. This involved experience of all the metallurgical, engineering and production management aspects of Aluminium production, from smelting and continuous casting to foil production, covering both general purpose and canstock alloy production.

While at DAVY International, Dr. Reeve, in addition to having overall executive responsibility for equipment designed to produce Aluminium, other non-ferrous metals, Steel, and Stainless Steel, was also specifically responsible for the specification, proposals and technical content of some of the largest Aluminium projects in the world at that time. Success with these contracts allowed the Company to become a world leader in turnkey Aluminium processing equipment supply.

Dr. Reeve is the author of papers relating to the metallurgical factors affecting the fabrication of Aluminium and Rolling Mill design. Dr. Reeve was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining in 1984 and has a Doctorate in Industrial Metallurgy related to the process control of anisotropy in rolled aluminium products.
